Well.. a little more update on life. Jeez. I need to get caught up! Guard has made me fall so far behind!
, I did it! I broke up with him. And he was completely fine with it. He even told me "I want the best for you, Carly Rae." So, I'm free! Single! Can I crawl back under the rock now? You should come with lol. And remind me not to worry so much! I felt kinda sick of worry when I went to his house to end it and I worried over nothing! Oi.
Once again, the BHS color guard took first place, beating AF at the UVU competition on MARCH 17. SAINT PATTY'S DAY. It was our day, honestly. Everyone was in green, our show was green, we had the luck of the Irish, we though "green" all day. Someone even told us "Happy Bingham Day!" instead of St. Patrick's Day!
It was the show of our LIVES. Lucy said to us "Put out SO much energy on that floor that I'll have to pick you up and carry you off!" Well... when I asked him if he could carry me to the bus, he said no. XD we had a few more drops than at the West High competition (yes, the one with the incident.
), but the general effect and even movement was a bit better! We won first place all across the board -- Movement, equipment, general effect, and ensemble effect. We beat AF by 2.2 points! That's about how much they beat us at our first competition of the season at Westlake high! Poor Davis sacrificed the competition for their Prom... sad.
Our next competition is April 7 -- state semi-finals and finals down at AF... that worries me a bit. We're not putting our spin under the double toss in the flag feature because it could break our show if someone didn't catch it right or lost their balance while they turned under the toss. So, we're CLEANING CLEANING CLEANING and adding in a bit more rifle-saber work.
Our choreographer, Michael James (who also choreographs for the Phantom Regiment!) said that these little add-ins, adjustments, and clean-ups will get us just as many (if not more) points than the turn under the double would~! State finals... it's literally gonna be an all day thing. We'll wake up and have practick at about 6:30 or 7:30, get on the bus, go STRAIGHT to AF STRAIGHT into the warm-up rooms, to the semi-finals performance. Soon after semi-finals, we learn if we made it into finals -- that I'm not too worried about because Lucy says we always do our best at finals. After that, we get a 2 hour break, then go to warm-ups and straight out for finals... then we wait for places. Our principal might even come to state. Maybe we'll get the well-deserved assembly we hope for! After that, the season ends. Clinics for newbies will start up again near the end of school, practices will go throughout the summer, and then band camp starts up in August. Oi. So much color guard~ That's OK though cause I love it so!
I went to the eye doctor recently. My left contact was blurry and the right one wasn't as bad. I was thinking that they were just old contacts and it's around the time that I get my new ones anyways. So, I went in and guess what? I have a little bit of astigmatism in left eye. So, they upped my perscription in my left eye from -2.50 to -2.75. Good lord, I feel blind. x.x
Well, my dad has pretty much stopped talking about the affair with Julia. He never asks who I'm texting. He'll see me texting, but he never asks. The only incident I've had with him was at UVU. An alto/tenor sax player from the marching band, Dani, came to watch us. She was sitting next to me most of the time and my dad texted me "Who's next to you?" I responded with "Cari (the guard president) and Dani." Later on, he asked me (in person) how I knew Dani. I said "From marching band." and that was that. Mom.. she's nosy. "Who are you texting?" "Ashley and Sophia." "You never used to talk to Ashley this much..." "Actually, I have. Where have you been?" Or, as she tells me good night: "Good night, love you, turn off the texting and go to bed -- you've been so hard to wake up in the morning. Be good, if you know what I mean." Blah blah blah. Really? It's been a week, if not more. Let it go. Enough is enough. You get tired of me talking about cosplay. I get tired of you talking about this. Hell, even my GRANDMOTHER, who sided with my parents, hasn't brought it up since.
Cosplay things:
Fix mickey head on my keyblade
Finish dying Steph freaking Japan wig (once she buys me the copic ink I need
)
FREAKING WORK ON SEALAND. I want more than the shoes and belt!
"I also have a birthmark the shape of a transistor radio, but I'm not allowed to show you that."
Isn't Sealand the cutest little 12-year old ever? :3
